The GreenCast Connect mobile application (the “App”) is offered by Syngenta Crop Protection, LLC, P.O. Box 18300, Greensboro, NC 27409, United States of America (“Syngenta”, “we”, “us”) - the “data controller”.
Your privacy is important to us. Syngenta has therefore developed this privacy statement (this “Statement” or “Privacy Policy”) to inform you how Syngenta collects, stores, uses and processes the personal data and information you provide to us through this App. This version of the Privacy Policy supersedes all previous versions. Scope of this Statement
This Statement covers the personal data and information (hereinafter “Personal Information”) we collect through this App. Personal Information is data that identifies you personally, either alone or in combination with other information available to us. Examples of Personal Information include your name, email address, phone number, facility address and the information you provide when you use this App to create an account and use our services. The approach personal data is collected and processed applies to all product lines, covering Greencast Connect Basic, Greencast Connect Advanced and Greencast Connect Premium. Your consent
By using the App, you are accepting the practices described in this Statement. If you do not agree to this Statement, please do not use the App. We reserve the right to make changes to this Statement at any time. Any changes will be posted in this Statement and material changes will generally apply only to activities and information collected on a going forward basis. We encourage you to regularly review this Statement to make sure you are aware of any changes and how your information may be used. The use of the App is further governed by the Terms & Conditions available in the App.
What Personal Information do we collect through our App?
Personal information refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are. When you use the App, we collect certain information about you and your interaction with the App. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for customer support. See the table below for information about what Personal Information we collect and why. For additional information on how we use and disclose Personal Information collected through the App, please refer to the sections “How does Syngenta use your Personal Information?” and “How does Syngenta share your Personal Information?” respectively.

Such information is held on our contacts and administration databases. This allows us to manage our relationship with you efficiently, improve the App and the services which we offer to you, to target items of interest we may send to you or for market research.
Geo-location: Please note that you may be asked by the operating system of your smartphone to agree that geolocation data is shared with, and push notifications can be sent by, the App. Since the App is designed to provide you with up-to-date information, you have to grant these permissions in order to use the App the right way. By granting this permission, you are affirming your consent to the collection, storage, use and processing of such geolocation data in accordance with this Statement.
Marketing: If you have given us your consent, we will use your Personal Information for the purpose of promoting our products and services by sending you marketing material about them. You will be able to withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by exercising your rights as stated in this Statement.
How does Syngenta use your Personal Information?
Generally, we use the Personal Information we collect through the App:
- To provide the products, information and services you request from us;
- For security, fraud prevention purposes or any other legal obligation;
- To contact you with special offers and other information we believe will be of interest to you where you have given us permission to do so;
- To provide you with effective customer service;
- To better understand your needs and interests;
- To invite you to participate in surveys and provide feedback to us;
- To contact you with information and notices related to your use of our App;
- To improve the content, service, functionality and usability of our App.
How does Syngenta share your Personal Information?
Data processors. We disclose Personal Information to companies and organizations that perform services on our behalf, for example, companies that we partner with to develop the solution or companies that are commissioned with support services such as data storage, push notifications, solution hosting or geolocation services or marketing services. These data processors are required by contract to use the Personal Information we disclose with them only to perform services on our behalf and to protect the confidentiality and security of your Personal Information.
For technical functionalities of the App, we transfer or otherwise make Personal Information, including geolocation data, available to third parties. We also transfer or otherwise make Personal information available to service providers, who process your Personal Information under our instructions to help us to deliver the services offered by our Products and to carry out the purposes of the solution. These service providers include, but may not be limited to:
- Amazon Web Services, Inc (AWS), 410 Terry Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109-5210, USA provides a hosting service in the USA for the platform which hosts our Products.
- Google 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, providing the “Google Maps”, “Geolocation” and “Analytics” service will process your data in the United States, where they are adequately protected by virtue of Google’s certification.
- Text Request LLC., 417 Market St, Suite 201, Chattanooga, TN 37402, USA, provides 10DLC for text messaging services.
- Spiio, 470 Ramona St. 94301 Palo Alto, CA, USA for delivery the web dashboard and mobile application
- We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to protect our rights.
Intra-group data transfers. Our parent company, Syngenta Crop Protection AG, based in Basel, Switzerland (“Syngenta Parent”). Syngenta Parent has concluded Intragroup Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) with many of its subsidiaries (Syngenta DP Network), including us, to enable the effective transfer and processing of Personal Information. We use web servers, store and otherwise process Personal Information within the Syngenta DP Network countries. However, we only process your Personal Information for the purposes described and on the legal bases named in this Privacy Policy. If you do not want us to share your Personal Information with another member of the Syngenta family of businesses, you may "opt-out" at any time by sending an email to our Data Privacy Champion at data.privacy@syngenta.com
Business transfers. Your Personal Information may be transferred to a company that has acquired the stock or assets of Syngenta, one of its affiliates, or one of our businesses, for example, as the result of a sale, merger, reorganization or liquidation. If such a transfer occurs, the acquiring company's use of your Personal Information will still be subject to this policy and the privacy preferences you have expressed to us.
Compliance with laws and protection of our rights and the rights of others. We may disclose Personal Information when this is necessary to to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to comply with a court order, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive . We may also disclose Personal Information to prevent or investigate a possible crime, such as fraud or identity theft; to enforce or apply our online terms of use or other agreements with you; or to protect our own rights or property or the rights, property or safety of our users or others.
Aggregate information. We may share aggregated demographic or survey information with third parties, but this information is in anonymous form and does not contain any Personal Information.
Behavioral Advertising
As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example:

- We review information about your use of the Site, your purchases and your interaction on the Site to provide additional information of our services and products.
Special Notice Regarding Data Transfers
Syngenta uses web servers and stores data in Switzerland, France, the United States or in other countries. We may transfer your Personal Information to our data processors, service providers and others located in Switzerland, France, the United States or other countries for the purposes described in this Statement. Different countries have different privacy laws and requirements, and some provide less legal protection for your personal information than others.
Please know, however, that no matter where your Personal Information is collected or processed, if it was collected through this App, we will ensure that it is protected by the terms of this Statement and any privacy notices or click-through agreements that apply to you. By using this site, you are consenting to the collection, use, and transfer of your Personal Information in or to the United States or any other country in the world.
How can you exercise your rights in relation to your Personal Information?
We strive to maintain a high level of transparency about the data we process. Depending on where you live and subject to certain exceptions, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Right to Know: The right to confirm that Syngenta is processing your Personal Information, to get access to or receive a copy of the Personal Information we may have about you. This right may include: (i) the right to request that we disclose to you the Personal Information we collect, use, or disclose, and information about our data practices; and (ii) the right to request certain information regarding the Personal Information we have collected about you in the preceding 12 months including (a) the specific pieces and categories of Personal Information collected about you; (b) the categories of sources providing that Personal Information; (c) the categories of third parties with whom we have shared that Personal Information; and/or (d) the business purposes for collecting, using and sharing that Personal Information.
- Right to Request Correction: The right to request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information that we maintain about you.
- Right to Request Deletion: The right to request that we delete Personal Information that we have collected from or about you.
- Right to Opt-out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information to or with third parties
- Right to Opt-out of Targeted Advertising: The right to opt out of the processing of your Personal Information obtained from your activities on nonaffiliated Apps or online applications for the purposes of targeted advertising.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.
- Right to Limit the use of your sensitive Personal Information.
- Right to Data Portability: The right to require us to transmit certain of your Personal Information to you or to transfer or have them transferred, where technically feasible, to another data controller.
- Right to require that we stop processing your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes. Subject to other legitimate interests which we may be able to rely on (e.g. in the context of legal claims pending or threatened against us), we will then no longer be allowed to process your Personal Information.
Verification Process
After we receive your request, to ensure the security of the information we store and consumers’ privacy, we will verify that you are appropriately affiliated with the subject of the request, either as the consumer/individual or as an authorized agent or guardian of the consumer/individual. We may ask you to provide a few pieces of information to confirm your identity in our records. Please note that a legitimate denial of a request for information, deletion, or to opt-out is not discriminatory, nor is charging a fee (to the extent permitted by applicable law) for excessive or repetitive consumer requests.
Authorized Agents
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may designate an authorized agent to exercise the above-referenced rights on your behalf.
Pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Only a business entity or natural person registered with the California Secretary of State may act as an authorized agent.
- You must provide the authorized agent written permission to exercise your rights under the CCPA on your behalf.
- We may deny a request from an authorized agent on your behalf if the authorized agent does not submit proof that he, she, or it has been authorized by you to act on your behalf if we request such proof, as permitted by the CCPA.
Even if you use an authorized agent to exercise your rights under the CCPA on your behalf, pursuant to the CCPA we may still require that you verify your own identity directly to us.
Responses
We will respond to your reasonably specified request as quickly as possible after validating the request.
We will without undue delay modify your Personal Information if we agree that it is either inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, after taking into account the purposes for which it was collected. If we correct it and had previously disclosed it to a third party, we will also notify that third party if required to by law. If we disagree with your request to correct your Personal Information, we will explain the reason for refusal and the ways you can complain.
How long does Syngenta store your Personal Information?
We intend to keep your Personal Information accurate and up-to-date. We do not wish to store your Personal Information for any longer than necessary for the relevant purposes in relation to the use of the App and our services.
We intend to store your Personal Data only for so long as you have an account set up to use the App. Please note that removing the App from your smartphone does not delete your account. Your account will remain set up unless you request deletion by exercising your Right to Request Deletion in the manner stated in the section “How can you exercise your rights in relation to your Personal Information?”.
For evidentiary purposes, in particular to be prepared for legal disputes, we may store your Personal Information for a period of time after you delete your account as long as this is permissible and necessary given the statutes of limitations in your country, so our retention period may vary depending on the circumstances. However, in such cases we will no longer actively process the Personal Information for the originally specified purpose but only for the purpose mentioned above.
How does Syngenta protect Personal Information?
We maintain a comprehensive data security program, including commercially reasonable administrative, physical and technological security measures, to protect Personal Information from unauthorized access, unauthorized use, and unauthorized or accidental destruction, modification or disclosure. Although we take commercially reasonable precautions to provide an appropriate level of security, we cannot guarantee the security of Personal Information provided over the internet or stored in our databases.
Minors
The App is not intended for, directed to or targeted to children under the age of 18. We do not use the App to knowingly solicit Personal Information from, or market to, children under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, do not provide us with any Personal Information. If you are the parent or guardian and believe your minor child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us at the address provided in this Statement to request deletion. If we learn that someone under the age of 18 has provided Personal Information through the App, we will use reasonable efforts to remove such Personal Information from our databases.
Governing law & Jurisdiction
This Statement is governed under the laws of Delaware without regard to its conflicts of law provisions. The United States District Court for the District of Delaware, Wilmington, Delaware, shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any claims relating to these Statement.
